Our client is very proud of the team and culture they’ve built.  In partnership with their leadership team, you will continue to develop and drive a collaborative startup culture and core values.  You will be the evangelist of culture and employee engagement while also taking a very active role in ensuring company goals in growth and profitability are supported. The successful candidate will have experience linking talent initiatives and compensation programs to positive business performance within startup to midmarket technology organizations.

Director of Talent and Culture

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Live our client’s culture and core values in everything you do. You will be the walking, talking embodiment of their culture and core values. Promote connections between core values and achievement of company goals and objectives.
  • Own People Strategy Programs, including talent acquisition and retention, office and warehouse environment, people policies, performance and more.
  • Drive and influence talent assessment and performance management throughout the organization with the goal of achieving a culture of high performance.
  • Own the compensation and bonus process and foster employee understanding of total compensation.
  • Lead all daily operations related to payroll, benefits and recruiting. Own the relationship with the company’s PEO and recruiters.
  • Participate and lead cross-functional projects and initiatives throughout the company as needed.
  • Ensure safe operating environment in warehouse locations and partner with Operations to develop safety improvement programs for warehouses.
  • Operate at the highest levels of integrity and build trust with every team member.
  • Develop a program to mentor team members on all aspects of their careers.
  • Partner with leadership to continue to improve the hiring process, onboarding and maximize employee retention.
  • Develop and publicize the employment brand to continue to attract top talent.

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of work experience as an HR leader in a startup or mid-market environment.
  • Self-starter; well organized, detail-oriented and capable of prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Possess basic project management abilities and the capacity to follow through on projects to delivery.
  • Excellent planning and organization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to relate to people at all levels both within and outside the organization.
  • Proven record of going the extra mile, over-achievement.
  • Technology savvy
  • Strong judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to learn quickly & engage, challenge and motivate others.
  • A can-do attitude and belief that no task is too big or too small.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Master’s degree or professional certification is a plus.
