Role:

Our client has an exciting opportunity for  a talented and dedicated Strategist to work as part of the Health Research Team, focused on the day to day leadership, execution and delivery of research projects for clients. A Strategist takes responsibility for ownership of complete projects at both a strategic and tactical (day to day) level, with oversight and mentoring from a Director.  A Strategist will also manage and mentor Executives who support their research projects.  In this capacity, the Strategist will accept responsibility for quality of work and workload for themselves and any direct reports. In addition, a Strategist is a key member of the client relationship team, primarily from their project leadership but also making contributions to proposals and account planning.  The Strategist is an important member of the project/account team, and their commitment to the project/account and to other members of the team are key to the success of the company.

Experience (or at least a keen interest) in blended research approaches (e.g. qual, quant, mobile, social) is a must.

You’ll be working across a portfolio of accounts, so you’ll need to be proactive and have excellent organizational skills to respond to a wide range of client needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the design and execution of multiple projects according to tightly scheduled timelines and budget
  • Works with the Project Management team to manage research vendor relationships, troubleshoot fieldwork/recruiting challenges and communicate solutions to the client
  • Works with Executives and Project Management to ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all phases of research, including questionnaire design, programming, data collection and quota management, data processing, analysis planning and reporting
  • Takes ownership of questionnaire design based on client’s business and research objectives
  • Takes ownership of thoughtful analysis and presentations by working with Executives and suppliers to create a solid first draft of presentations with minimal guidance
  • At the same time, understands how/when to use Directors as a resource
  • Leads thinking on research findings, conclusions and implications
  • High level of visibility with clients
  • Works with Directors to lead project initiation meetings by drafting and presenting agenda/content
  • Leads day-to-day client contact - can confidently and independently lead conversations about projects (across all phases)
  • Presents results with mentoring/guidance from Director
  • Able to field some questions about new research opportunities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s degree preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of work experience, with significant market research experience in the Health industry, preferably pharmaceutical or medical devices
  • Experience executing a diverse set of quantitative and qualitative research studies across methodologies and therapeutic areas
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Passion/interest in Health
  • Demonstrates key attributes for success in the role: a good listener and communicator, is responsive, a good mentor/teacher, has a problem-solving orientation, cares deeply about quality of work, a commitment to continuous learning and refinement, and most importantly being a good team member who is open, sharing, relates and works well with others
  • In addition, there specific skills that are beneficial to the success of a Strategist: detail oriented, highly organized, ability to work on multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and strong numeric/data skills 
  • Experience designing qualitative interview guides using different methodologies and techniques
  • Experience working with research vendors across a wide range of project types
  • Project management experience
  • Experience leading/mentoring junior team members

If not local to NYC willingness to be on-site in NY 2 to 3 days per week (must be within the region and able to be in NYC 2 to 3 days per week).
